How It Looks In Practice​​

Below is a small selection of meals I prepare. The first three consist entirely of pain-free ingredients, demonstrating that even with certain dietary restrictions, it is possible to create meals that are both enjoyable and satisfying. The following three incorporate a combination of pain-free and pain-inducing ingredients, along with the specific number of 500mg sodium bicarbonate capsules I use (invariably dissolved in 500ml bottle of water) to effectively prevent discomfort.

 

This provides a clear example of how meals can be structured while maintaining control over symptoms.

Duck Breast with Broccoli, Carrots & Chickpeas

Pan-Seared Salmon with Roasted Brussel Sprouts & Spinach

 

Pain-free ingredients:

• Salmon

• Green beans

• Carrots

• Green Beans

• Brussel sprouts
• Spinach
• Oils

Pain-inducing ingredients:
• Maple syrup (dash - negligible)

Sodium bicarbonate (500mg capsules):
• None

Chicken Breast with Edamame, Corn & Avocado

• Chicken breast

• Broccoli

• Carrots

• Edamame

• Avocado

• Sugarsnap peas

• Sweetcorn

• Cashew nuts

Breaded Chicken with Spaghetti & Side Salad

• Spaghetti

• Tomato

• Breadcrumbs

• Garlic
• Vinegar

Pork Barbeque with Tabbouleh Salad, Hummus & Bread

Pain-free ingredients:

• Pork

Pain-inducing ingredients:
• Hummus (garlic & lemon)

• Salad dressing (lemon juice, sugar)

• Onion

• Tomato

• Cucumber

Sodium bicarbonate (500mg capsules):
• 2

Notes:

• Restaurant meal

• Required 2 tablets because has a lot of lemon juice, which has pH of 2, meaning it is 100,000 times more acidic than water.

Oatmeal with Banana & Blueberries

 

Pain-free ingredients:

• Sugar-free almond milk 


Pain-inducing ingredients:

• Oats (big portion - 130-160 grams)

• Banana (1 whole)

• Blueberries


Sodium bicarbonate (500mg capsules):
• 1
